ST. LOUIS BUSINESSES GIVE BACK TO THE LGBTQ+ COMMUNITY WITH PROGRAMS FOR PRIDE MONTH

From sweet treats to collaborations, these local businesses are celebrating the queer community by supporting advocacy organizations in St. Louis with charitable givebacks

ST. LOUIS (May 26, 2022) — In honor of celebrating St. Louis’ queer community, local businesses have developed specials and collaborations to give back to local charities that advocate for the LGBTQ+ community and their rights. A list of out client happenings for PRIDE can be found below:

  • 1220 Artisan Spirits (1220 S 8th St., St. Louis, MO 63104): 1220 Spirits, the botanically-inspired distillery from the team at 4 Hands Brewing Co, is releasing a special Pride Month Encrypted Vodka (see a photo here) in support of PROMO, a statewide organization that confronts systemic inequities to liberate the full spectrum of the LGBTQ+ community from discrimination and oppression. A portion of proceeds from every Rainbow Encrypted Vodka sold will go to PROMO. 1220 Spirits, in conjunction with the 4 Hands family of brands, is dedicated to creating a welcoming, inclusive space for their employees and customers, as well as supporting PROMO and their work since 2017 to secure full equality for LGBTQ+ Missourians. The Rainbow Encrypted Vodka is available for purchase at 4 Hands Brewing Co.’s Tasting Room and in select Missouri grocery and liquor stores.   • ART Bar at the Angad Arts Hotel (3550 Samuel Shepard Dr, St. Louis, MO 63103): ART Bar, the rooftop bar at the Angad Arts Hotel, is serving a dedicated Pride cocktail called the “Watermelon Suga.” Featuring 1220 Spirits Rainbow Encrypted Vodka, watermelon mint cordial, and soda water,  the cocktail will be on the ART Bar menu throughout the month from June 1-30 alongside other 4 Hands Brewing Co. and 1220 Spirits items. Those include the 4 Hands Rainbow Snowcone Seltzer and Citywide Beer as well as $9 shot specials of 1220 Spirits new vodkas, the Cherry Balaton and Parisian Lime and Lemonade and Lavender. A portion of the proceeds from those drinks will go towards PROMO, a statewide organization that confronts systemic inequities to liberate the full spectrum of the LGBTQ+ community from discrimination and oppression.   • Clementine’s Naughty & Nice Creamery (Multiple Locations): The small-batch ice cream company will be offering rainbow waffle cones at all six scoop shops for the month of June! 50% of pride cone sales to local LGBTQ+ causes such as HRC St. Louis, Vivent Health, and Metro Trans Umbrella Group.

  • Eckert’s Farm (Belleville): The Belleville farm will be offering a Pride Love Sundae at the new Mr. E’s Cider Donut & Custard Shop to benefit PFLAG. The special sundae with rainbow cake, vanilla custard, whipped cream and rainbow sprinkles will be available for the month of June. PFLAG is the first and largest organization for lesbian, gay, bisexual, transgender, and queer (LGBTQ+) people, their parents and families, and allies.

  • Mission Taco Joint (Multiple Locations): Mission Taco Joint is offering a hot-dog inspired taco in collaboration with Steve’s Hot Dogs for Pride Month in June. The special taco features a soft-flour tortilla piled high with Steve’s Hot Dog-spiced roast pork carnitas, pickled red onions, cilantro, Mission Taco queso and fried jalapenos. All seven Mission Taco Joint locations across St. Louis and Kansas City will offer the taco from June 1-June 30, and a portion of proceeds from the five St. Louis locations will go to Metro Trans Umbrella Group, a non-profit organization that brings together the Transgender community in the St. Louis area by offering Transgender support, advocacy, education and ally groups.   • Hi-Pointe Drive-In and Chicken Out (Multiple Locations): The fast-casual restaurant concepts from the team behind Sugarfire Smokehouse, are getting “Hi On Pride” this June with a series of colorful Pride month shake specials and an LGBTQ+ giveback initiative. Starting Wednesday, June 1, Hi-Pointe Drive-In will offer a Rainbow Funfetti Cake Shake (see photo here) featuring Ronnie’s vanilla ice cream, whipped cream, rainbow sprinkles, and half of a Hostess Cupcake with sprinkles, ($7). Additionally, Chicken Out will offer a Vanilla Funfetti Shake (see photo here) featuring Ronnie’s vanilla ice cream, whipped cream, sprinkles, and rainbow tropical fruit purée ($7). A portion of the proceeds from every shake sold will go to PROMO, a statewide organization that confronts systemic inequities to liberate the full spectrum of the LGBTQ+ community from discrimination and oppression. The specialty Pride shakes will be available for purchase at all Hi-Pointe Drive-In (multiple locations) and Chicken Out (multiple locations) beginning June 1 - June 30 from 11 a.m. - 7 p.m.
